Isudan Ghadvi, Gujarat unit president of Aam Aadmi Party, on Monday expressed doubt that the BJP in Gujarat has formed the government with the aid of “Vote Theft”.
Ghadvi was addressing a press conference alongside Manoj Sorathiya, state party general secretary, at the party headquarters in Ahmedabad.
Journalist turned politician, Ghadvi, held that he has doubts that the BJP has formed the Government in Gujarat with the aid of “Vote Theft”.
Asked about allegations of “Vote Theft” leveled by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Ghadvi said it was Arvind Kerjiwal (AAP convenor) was the first one who had spoken about “Vote Theft”. “At that time people said that he (Kejriwal) was doing this for Delhi election,” he said.
The press conference was organised a day after 500 leaders and workers of AAP joined the Congress in Gujarat.
He alleged that the Congress was inducting AAP leaders and workers in its fold at the instance of the BJP.
He further claimed that in the last 20 days, 10,000 BJP and Congress leaders and workers had joined AAP. Six lakh people have joined AAP by giving a missed call, he added.
Ghadvi also hit out at the incident that happened the other day when a woman self-immolated in the easternpart of Ahmedabad to protest against demolition drive. She later succumbed to the burns. Ahmedabad Police has filed cases against two Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation officials in this regard.
AAP released a four-page form for staking claim to contest upcoming civic elections.
Sorathiya said that AAP will contest over 10,000 seats in District Panchayat, Taluka Panchayat and municipal corporation elections.
The leaders said that the applications will be scrutinised and then the selection will be done.
