The complainant has alleged that Amit Singh, who operates Amigo Security Company, had demanded an amount exceeding Rs. 3 lakhs from them in a family dispute dating back to the year 2019. However, it was not possible for Amit Singh to resolve the dispute in the family as per the complainant’s statement.
The complainant believed that Amit Singh could not do anything in his own case, so he initiated proceedings against him, alleging that he had started harassing the complainant and demanded more money. Amit Singh had indeed initiated a blackmail attempt and had entered the complainant’s house with a bouncer one day, demanding a ransom of Rs. 4.50 crores. When the complainant did not comply with such demands, Amit Singh threatened to frame them in false cases of violence and issued threats of physical harm. Amit Singh also made threatening calls from his mobile phone and other numbers. Furthermore, as Amit Singh was running a cybersecurity company named Amigo, he closely monitored the complainant’s activities in any way possible.
Based on the allegations made by the complainant against Amit Singh’s blackmailing, a complaint had been lodged against him in the Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch. On the basis of this complaint, the Cyber Crime Branch conducted an investigation and found suspicious information from the computers of the accused, Amit Singh. The police have now initiated an investigation in this direction as well. Furthermore, the police have appealed to the public that if they have also been victimised by Amit Singh’s extortion, they should come forward and file a complaint against him.
