DGCA Orders Probe After Air Arabia Lands At Ahmedabad Airport

| Updated: June 8, 2022 12:56

On June 7, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) launched an investigation into an Air Arabia flight that made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport on Monday after receiving a distress call.

The flight, 3L-062, was due to depart Abu Dhabi late on June 6 and arrive in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The flight crew, however, declared a Mayday after an engine issue on the Airbus A320 (A6-AOT).

“DGCA will conduct a preliminary investigation in cooperation with the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB),” a senior official of the aviation regulatory body told news agency.

The aircraft’s “No. 1 Engine Stall and Engine Fail ECAM warnings came on,” according to the official.

“The Mumbai office is being moved to Ahmedabad for preliminary investigation in collaboration with the AAIB,” the statement stated.
