Nearly, three days after the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) declared the Class 10 results, it issued a circular to the schools to instruct them to start the procedures for the admissions in Class 11 science stream.

For the first time, the Gujarat education board provided two options for Math subject this year. The options included Standard Math and Basic Math. Standard Math for the students who would take admission in Group A or Groups AB in the Class 11 science stream. While Basic Math for the students who wished to opt for Group B in the science stream or wanted to go for commerce or arts stream.

The circular issued by the board states that the students who selected Basic Math in Class 10 will be able to get admission in science stream’s B Group only in Class 11 and they will not be entitled to get admissions in Group A or Groups AB.

However, the students, who cleared the Class 10 exams with Basic Math but still wished to get admission in Group A or AB Group, can give supplementary exams of Standard Math – scheduled for July. After clearing this exam, the students can apply for the said group in Class 11, stated the circular further.

The Gujarat education board declared the results of around 7.8 lakh students, who appeared in the Class 10 examination, on Monday, June 6. This year, the result across the state for Class 10 stood at 65.18 per cent with over 4.05 lakh students clearing the exam.
