The Dholera International Airport project in Gujarat was authorised by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Tuesday. The Airports Authority of India and the Gujarat government would jointly own the airport, which will be connected by highways, fast transit systems, and trains. The first phase of the Dholera airport, which is anticipated to be completed in four years, will cost Rs 1,305 crore, according to Thakur. At a cost of Rs 1,712 crore, the airport would be built in three phases. The airport was originally scheduled to open in December 2023, but due to delays, the first phase should be completed by 2025-26.
