This morning the Gujarat state government said that Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has taken some important decisions regarding simplification of revenue process and transparency in administration of the state. Revenue Minister Rajendra Trivedi said that these decisions are largely based on a report from Meena Committee that was reviewed by CM Patel recently.
People of the state and authorities had to face many problems due to inconsistency of the old and new conditional properties, as there was no clarity over 24 revenue laws that had been revoked over the years. Due to lack of specific guidelines in this regard, applicants had to approach the state level offices to address such issues. “As a result, the workload of the revenue department increased and due to different interpretations, the resolution of such issues was greatly delayed,” Trivedi said.
Furthermore, Trivedi said that when CM Patel became aware of the problem, he ordered revenue department to work together and come up with a practical resolution. He has directed Trivedi and his department to resolve the matter amicably with decisive speed. The revenue department has planned extensive work to resolve the issues regarding new and old conditional lands that arise because of the 24 repealed laws. The department will then publish detailed instructions in this regard for the ease of operations. Trivedi applauded CM Patel’s leadership and guidance saying that these recent instructions were a example of good governance established by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
