Three workers were killed and four others were seriously injured when an iron shed collapsed on them at a rice mill in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad district on Tuesday, according to police.
According to them, the incident occurred on Monday night while the workers were erecting the shed at the mill near Bavla town, about 30 kilometres from the district headquarters.
According to a Bavla police station official, seven workers were trapped when the iron structure collapsed unexpectedly. “Some locals dragged them out and summoned an ambulance to transport them to a government hospital in Bavla.” “Two of the workers died on the spot, and another worker died after being taken to the hospital,” the official said.
According to him, the three workers died as a result of severe head injuries caused by the collapse of the metal structure.
One of the four other injured labourers was in critical condition and was referred to an Ahmedabad hospital. According to the official, the three others were being treated at a hospital in Bavla.
