“Thrill Addict” By Ahmedabad Police Shows Youth The Way

| Updated: June 20, 2022 17:53

In conjunction with the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and raising awareness about drug abuse’s ills, Ahmedabad Police convened a programme in the Thaltej vicinity on Sunday. Titled “Thrill Addict,” this episode is part of the police’s “Fit India” series.

Also present were chief minister Bhupendra Patel and state Home minister Harsh Sanghvi. The event saw live stunts by the NSG (National Security Guard) and Chetak commandos. Among the crowd, energizers were their acts of rappelling: head down, wall walk, long ceiling, and surprise rappelling.

According to city CP, Sanjay Srivastava: “The stress here is on physical prowess. The core of excellence lies in fitness, and we hope the youth takes home the message.”

When asked about the “Thrill Addict” branding, the police chief explained: “The youth must derive its thrill from a fit and full life. This is long-term versus the corrosive thrill from drugs. The next chapter will be organized at Sabarmati Riverfront.”

The CP also stressed the need for youth to devote time to physical activities. While lauding the police initiative, Chief Minister Patel said: “Physical fitness is the key to national security. The youth must discard destructive ways and contribute to the country’s collective well-being.”
