Uddhav Likens Rebels To Insects And Pests

| Updated: June 24, 2022 17:55

Uddhav Thackeray, who has been reduced to a minority in his own party following a revolt by a former aide, said on Friday that the Shiv Sena rebels are “trying to break the party” and asked, “Why should I feel bad about those who have left?”

The Maharashtra Chief Minister virtually addressed a group of party leaders and said that those who had declared they would rather die than leave the Shiv Sena have “run away.”

“How far can you go without mentioning Shiv Sena and Thackeray?” Uddhav Thackeray asked, referring to the rebel MLAs who have deserted him.

Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya Thackeray met with Shiv Sena district heads while fighting an unprecedented rebellion supported by more than 40 MLAs. Aaditya Thackeray attended the meeting in person in an attempt to reestablish his family’s emotional connection with Shiv Sena grassroots workers founded by his grandfather Bal Thackeray.

Eknath Shinde and his growing band of insurgents have been staying at a five-star hotel in Guwahati, Assam. According to sources, Shinde had been harbouring a grudge for some time, and one of his grievances was Aaditya Thackeray’s rise to power.

“My entire body ached, from my head and neck to my feet. Some people thought I’d never recover… My eyes were not opening, but I didn’t care because I didn’t care about myself “According to the Sena chief.

Shinde claims he has the support of 40 Sena MLAs and that the number will soon exceed 50.
