A young woman Nafisa Khokhar, who lives in Vadodara’s Tandalja area, made a video of her tragic tale at Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Riverfront and tried to commit suicide but was rescued. However, she eventually ended her life after returning to her hometown.
This is similar to another young woman Aisha who committed suicide on February 25, 2021, after making a video at the Sabarmati Riverfront, fed up with her husband’s torture. Nafisa Khokhar tried the same after a young man, Sheikh Rameez Ahmed of Ahmedabad, betrayed her.
Nafisa later returned to Vadodara and committed suicide on June 20, 2022, at home. After the incident, the girl’s family members lodged a police complaint and the video made by Nafisa has gone viral.
