Vastrapur Police Bust Drug Racket Involving 300 High-profile Families

| Updated: June 9, 2022 11:23

Vastrapur police in Ahmedabad has busted a huge drug racket, which allegedly involved 300 high-profile people and their children. Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) operation has uncovered some very shocking details. The investigations have revealed that a few persons got together and created an e-commerce company about eighteen months back, through which they were selling and delivering drugs through out the state.

The entire scandal was brought to light when the police arrested several men and seized some 3.637 kilograms of drugs from them. Here, the police got information regarding an online company that was supplying drugs through out the state, especially in Vadodara, Rajkot and Ahmedabad.

Many names have come forth in the scandal. It has been revealed that many government officials who are in high positions, including women workers, have been regular customers of the e-commerce company. Nearly 300 wealthy families have been named among those buying drugs from here. In many cases it is the children of these families that have been buying and using drugs. These families include many high-profile businessmen, public service personnels, local as well as national celebrities and even professionals in medical industry.

Police officials have said that they have evidence that those involved in the racket had been a part of rave parties organized in Vadodara, Rajkot as well as Ahmedabad. They said they were still gathering evidence, but so far it looks like a lot of illegal activities took place at these parties. There are also rumours that girls were exploited sexually in exchange for a single dose of drugs.

The e-commerce company, named Krishna Enterprise, was established by Akash Vizanwa and Karan Wagh, for the sole purpose of dealing drugs. Investigation is ongoing and police is still looking for solid proofs in the matter.
