Gujarat: CM Patel Approves Rs5100 Crs For Developmental Projects

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today approved a planning proposal for 2022-2023 submitted by State Department of Urban Development and Department of Urban Housing, allotting a total of Rs5100 crores for the same. According to the proposal, this fund will be used for infrastructural development works in towns and metros, as well as water supply infrastructure and underground sewerage works.

As such the Gujarat Municipal Finance Board (GMFB) has been given Rs3806 crore for various public interest development works in metros, and towns, and Rs1294 crore has been set aside for Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM).

Out of this amount allotted to GMFB and GUDM, Rs3,345 crore will be given to state corporations, Rs1,628 crore to municipalities, and Rs127 crore to urban development authorities for development works.

For this purpose, CM Patel will provide Rs1628 crore to 8 Municipal Corporations and Rs127 crore to Urban Development Authorities for various infrastructure development programs. Along with this, provision has been made to provide Rs1917 crore to 8 municipalities, Rs379 crore to municipalities and Rs72 crore to urban development authorities for various infrastructural works. Besides, Rs500 crore will be allotted for Mukhyamantri Shaheri Marg Yojana, out of which Rs300 crore will be given to 8 Municipal Corporations and Rs200 crore to Municipalities.

In addition, Rs350 crore has been provided for public participation works of private societies and Rs100 crore for prominent identity works. Also, Rs250 crore will be allocated for the construction of flyovers to solve traffic problems in municipal and municipal areas. In addition, Rs 238 crore will be allocated for outgrowth area development in 8 Municipal Corporations.

The CM Patel will allot Rs1,294 crore to the Gujarat Urban Development Mission under the Swarnim Jayanti Urban Development Scheme. The funds will be used for underground sewerage, water supply, distribution works for drinking water under tap-water program, CM bus transport facility in towns, as well as for operation and maintenance of municipalities. Under the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme, the state government has allocated a total amount of Rs44,102 crore from 2009 to 2021-22.
