| Updated: October 3, 2022 18:54

Ahead of Gujarat assembly elections, a former congress leader joined Aam Aadmi Party on Monday. Chetan Rawal, a former city Congress president of Ahmedabad and general secretary of the State Congress is now an AAP member. Along with him Nitaben, Dr. Sunilbhai Jadav and  Mansukhbhai Patel were also welcomed into the party by AAP leader Indranil Rajguru.

Chetanbhai’s father was the Home Minister of The State of Gujarat and at the same time, he was also the longest-serving state president of the Congress. Nitaben, daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister Chhabil Mehta also joined the Aam Aadmi Party today.

Dr. Sunilbhai Jadav, who is associated with social work, has also joined the Aam Aadmi Party today after being influenced by Arvind Kejriwal. Former President of Halvad Municipality Mansukh Patel has also joined the Aam Aadmi Party.

On this occasion, Chetan Rawal said, “Today, we have issues such as inflation, unemployment, deteriorating health system, deteriorating education system. The present BJP government has completely failed to address and solve all these problems. Unfortunately, the Congress party has not been able to do any work on these things”.

On joining the Aam Aadmi Party, Nitaben said, “I am a social worker and I have worked in the Congress.  In today’s time of inflation, Arvind Kejriwal has provided us with guarantee schemes and therefore I joined the party.”
