Vote chori in Gujarat exposed with evidence

The Gujarat Congress led by Amit Chavda has meticulously exposed the BJP’s vote chori in Gujarat. Gujarat is the laboratory of all BJP’s dirty tricks and they launched the pilot project of Vote Chori from Gujarat only, State Congress president Amit Chavda told Vibes of India. He has accused the    the ruling BJP of orchestrating a large-scale “vote chori” (vote theft) in the state, alleging that thousands of fake and duplicate entries have been found in the electoral rolls. Rahul Gandhi has already said that Vote Chori of BJP began from Gujarat.

Chavda said the party’s scrutiny of voter lists has revealed that “one person, multiple votes” has  become a recurring pattern in Gujarat. He claimed the alleged manipulation was most evident in the Navsari Lok Sabha constituency, represented by Gujarat BJP chief and Union Cabinet minister CR Patil.

A detailed examination of the Choriyasi Assembly segment in Navsari shows serious discrepancies. Out of 6,09,592 registered voters, Congress said it checked about 40 per cent of the entries and found nearly 30,000 to be “duplicate, fake or suspicious”.

“If one constituency shows such a scale of fraud, imagine how democracy is being undermined across the state. Questions are now being raised about CR Patil’s record victories in the past elections,” Chavda said.

According to Chavda, the Congress’s internal investigation has revealed that the same voter’s name appeared multiple times, sometimes with minor spelling changes. In other cases, Chavda said, individuals were found with more than one voter ID, or the same electorate was listed in different languages to obscure their identity.

The Congress leader also alleged that changes of address were being used to create inflated voter rolls. “This is not just an error in records, it is a conspiracy to finish democracy,” Chavda said.

Furthermore, he said Congress would continue to expose what it described as systematic vote theft and demanded a thorough verification of Gujarat’s electoral rolls.

The BJP has not yet responded to the allegations.

Chavda’s big allegations came at a time when Rahul Gandhi is camping in poll-bound Bihar for his ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ along with other INDIA bloc allies, incuding the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).

Rahul Gandhi launched the Congress’ ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ from Sasaram in Rohtas district on August 17 to protest against the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. The yatra, supported by all INDIA bloc constituents, will culminate in Patna on September 1.

The yatra has so far covered Gayaji, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Munger, Katihar, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Purnea, West Champaran, Gopalganj, East Champaran, and Siwan districts.

“I am accusing the PM of vote chori daily, but why is he maintaining a stoic silence? Because he has been caught; he is exposed now. People’s response to the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar has left the PM shaken,” Rahul Gandhi had said during a rally in Motihari.

Both the BJP and Election Commission have denied the allegations made by Rahul Gandhi, with poll panel chief asking the Congress leader to either apologise or back his claims with a signed affidavit as required under electoral rules.
