A newly renovated school building in Jamkhambhaliya was inaugurated by Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani on Tuesday, marking a major boost to educational infrastructure in the town.
Nathwani is also Director (Corporate Affairs) at Reliance Industries Limited.
The upgraded premises of Shri V.H. and V.H. High School is located in the Harshadpur area and managed by the Shri Vijay Charitable Trust.
The renovation has been carried out with support from Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives, aimed at improving facilities for students in the refinery region.
The school building, originally constructed in 1986, had become structurally weak over the years. With around 300 students studying in Classes 9 to 12, the trust decided that urgent redevelopment was necessary to provide a safer and more comfortable learning environment.
Following representations made to Nathwani, Reliance undertook the reconstruction project.
Built at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore, the newly constructed two-storey building includes modern classrooms, a principal’s office, staff rooms, an NCC office, computer laboratory and library.
Separate sanitation blocks have been created for boys, girls and staff, along with additional facilities such as a sports ground, CCTV surveillance, fire safety systems, solar power installation and water conservation measures.
Sports and music equipment have also been provided to encourage the all-round development of students.
Speaking at the inauguration, Nathwani said Reliance continues to work in areas such as education, healthcare, environmental protection, water conservation and women empowerment in communities surrounding its refinery operations.
“It is a matter of pride and joy to contribute towards strengthening educational facilities in my hometown Khambhaliya,” he said.

Reliance Group President Dhanraj Nathwani, who supervised the project, said the company has renovated several schools in Jamnagar district in recent years. These include primary schools in villages such as Kana Chikari, Moti Khawdi, Pipli and Navania, as well as high schools in Sikka, Chorwad and Moti Khawdi.
He noted that the Jamkhambhaliya project is the fourth high school renovation undertaken in this series.
The inauguration event was attended by municipal office bearers, panchayat representatives, trustees, government officials, education sector members and local residents, who expressed appreciation for the upgraded school infrastructure.
