Volume 7 Of Striaarth Released

| Updated: February 17, 2026 17:24

A vibrant and literary launch event for સ્ત્રીઆર્થ – Volume 7 was held at the Department of Botany (Bioinformatics), Gujarat University.

સ્ત્રીઆર્થ is not just a book series, but a powerful literary movement that amplifies women’s voices. The concept and the very word Striaarth were coined by its Sutradhar, Pratibha Thakker, who has brought together Gujarati women writers from across the globe onto a single platform in over last 10 years.

Across Volumes 1 to 7, a remarkable total of 338 stories have been published, with 54 impactful stories featured in Volume 7.

These stories are short, thought-provoking, and progressive, strongly advocating gender equality. One of the defining strengths of Striaarth is its wide thematic and stylistic diversity — spanning social narratives, psychological explorations, sociological reflections, humour, science fiction, thrillers, and stories with powerful twists. Each narrative carries a sense of commitment and a strong, meaningful message.

The event was graced by the presence of renowned storyteller Raghavji Madhad, progressive poet Sarup Dhruv, and noted journalist and artist Mukund Pandya. The evening was hosted by RJ Megha. The book was unveiled in the presence of Striaarth’s Sutradhar Pratibha Thakkar and all contributing authors of part 7.

A floral rangoli created by Sweety Shah from Unjha & core team memer of Striaarth –  Nandini Shah Mehta became a visual highlight, while Vandana Mangidkar and her team presented artwork designed around Striaarth.

The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome by author Dr. Rushvi Taylor from Bharuch. Continuing the tradition, a new Striaarth theme song was performed in chorus by Sejal Barot and her team —

“Ek seedhi saadi nagari jyaan jagya ati mokli, jaavu pele paare jyaan Striaarth naame nagari…” — energizing the audience.

A Kathak performance by Tarshvi Ayana Trivedi, set to a medley of feminist songs, received thunderous applause.

A special poem dedicated to Striarth by noted writer Raj Goswami was recited by Ami Thakkar.

Authors Kalpana Savikant from Vadodara and Riddhi Odedra from Porbandar presented readings of their stories, enriching the literary spirit of the evening.

A powerful monologue by psychologist and columnist Dr Megha Joshi received a standing ovation.

Advocate Pratibha Thakkar shared a power packed narration of the Striarth journey, while Sarup Dhruv engaged with the authors through an interactive session.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Jagu Patel, concluding the event on a graceful note.

At its core, Striaarth is about giving voice to women — Women’s voices are not meant to be silenced; they are meant to be heard. Their roar deserves to echo.

Striaarth serves as a platform for women to express themselves with conviction, transforming their experiences into meaningful stories. The 54 stories in Volume 7 stand as a testament to strong narratives and powerful perspectives.

The book also makes for a thoughtful and meaningful gift for Gujarati readers and literature enthusiasts.
