iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, Foldable: Apple’s September 9 Price & Feature Buzz

Apple is preparing for a major iPhone event on September 9, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max expected to be the main attractions. The company is also widely expected to unveil its first foldable iPhone, although Apple has not officially confirmed the product name, specifications or price of these devices.

For Indian buyers, the biggest questions are likely to be the expected prices of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, camera upgrades, display changes and how much Apple’s first foldable iPhone could cost.

Importantly, while the September 9 event has been confirmed, most of the information about the upcoming iPhones is still based on reports and leaks.

iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max Launch Date

Apple’s “Surprise and shine” event is scheduled for September 9 at 10:30 PM IST. The event will also mark the first major iPhone launch under new Apple CEO John Ternus.

Apple could reportedly change its usual iPhone launch strategy this year. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to arrive in September, while the standard iPhone 18 could be pushed to 2027.

Expected iPhone 18 Pro Price in India

Apple has not yet announced the official Indian prices of the new models.

However, reports suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro series could be more expensive than its predecessors because of higher component costs and increased memory requirements.

According to reported estimates, the iPhone 18 Pro could be priced at around ₹1.34 lakh in India, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max may cost between ₹1.55 lakh and ₹1.70 lakh, depending on the final configuration. Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to be even more expensive, with its price reportedly set to go above ₹1.5 lakh in India. These are only reported estimates, and Apple has not yet officially confirmed the prices.

The iPhone 18 Pro could reportedly start at around ₹1.34 lakh in India, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max could start between ₹1.55 lakh and ₹1.70 lakh, depending on the final configuration.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected to be considerably more expensive. Current reports place its possible price in the $2,000–$2,500 range, which could translate to well above ₹1.5 lakh in India. These are only reported estimates and have not been confirmed by Apple.

iPhone 18 Pro Display and Design

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to retain a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max could continue with a 6.9-inch screen. Both models are expected to use OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate.

One of the reported design changes is a smaller Dynamic Island. There are also reports that Apple could move towards under-display Face ID. However, this remains unconfirmed.

The iPhone 18 Pro could also reportedly be offered in sky blue, pure black and burgundy colours, although Apple has not confirmed these colour options.

Triple Cameras Could Get Major Upgrade

The iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to continue with a triple-camera setup.

According to reports, all three rear cameras could feature 48MP sensors, while the front camera could be upgraded to 24MP. One of the biggest reported changes could be a variable-aperture main camera.

A variable aperture would allow the camera lens to control how much light enters the camera. This could give users greater control over photography in different lighting conditions. Some reports suggest that this feature could be limited to the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

A20 Pro Chip and Up to 12GB RAM

The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to use Apple’s A20 Pro chip, reportedly based on a 2nm manufacturing process.

Leaks also point towards up to 12GB of RAM and Apple’s C2 modem. The new chip is expected to bring improvements in both performance and power efficiency.

One recent report has also claimed that the iPhone 18 Pro could deliver an 18% increase in graphics performance, although this information has not been officially confirmed.

Apple’s First Foldable iPhone Could Debut

Perhaps the biggest surprise at the September 9 event could be Apple’s first foldable iPhone.

Reports have used different names for the device, including iPhone Fold and iPhone Ultra, meaning the final name remains unknown. The reported design is similar to a book-style foldable phone.

When opened, the device could have a screen of around 7.8 inches, along with a smaller 5.5-inch cover display. It could also reportedly be around 4.5mm thick when unfolded.

Foldable iPhone Camera and Security

The foldable model is expected to feature two 48MP rear cameras. It could also have two front-facing cameras.

Another major reported difference could be the biometric security system. Instead of Face ID, Apple may use Touch ID on the foldable iPhone. None of these details have been officially confirmed.

What Else Could Apple Announce?

The September 9 event is expected to focus on the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and Apple’s first foldable iPhone. Apple is also expected to announce new Apple Watch and AirPods models at the event.

For now, the September 9 event is the only confirmed part of the story. The specifications, Indian prices and details of the foldable iPhone remain based on leaks and reports until Apple officially announces the products.
