A classified Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) report asserts that Lawrence Bishnoi, the imprisoned mastermind of an India-based criminal syndicate, continues to orchestrate extortion, drug trafficking, and murder-for-hire operations from his prison cell in India.
At the time of this article going live, there was a report of a chilling escalation from the Bishnoi organised crime syndicate. It allegedly unleashed a tightly co‑ordinated burst of brazen violence across India and Canada within a 48-hour span, signalling a new and more sophisticated chapter of transcontinental intimidation.
This week’s attacks point to a gang operating with unprecedented reach and a calculated psychological playbook. Delhi was reportedly shaken by two separate shootings at business establishments on the same day, even as, across the Atlantic, a businessman’s residence in Brampton, Canada, was riddled with bullets.
The Delhi incidents bore all the hallmarks of textbook terror tactics. At a site in Paschim Vihar, the gang reportedly issued a direct death threat, invoking a previous assassination, according to a report by a national daily. “Next time, if you don’t pick up the call, I will have you picked up from the earth. You will meet the same fate as Nadir Shah…”, the warning read, referencing a victim who was gunned down in September 2024.
Meanwhile, the explosive RCMP document, obtained and reported by a reputed media house, claims that the Bishnoi gang is not merely expanding its violent footprint in Canada but is also “acting on behalf of the Indian government” to target Sikh separatists and other perceived threats.
The sensitive report has found its way to Canadian media just as India and Canada prepare to resume trade talks.
Currently, Lawrence is lodged in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat.
Neither the Indian government, the Gujarat Prison department, nor the Indian High Commission have responded to the claims.
This follows Canada’s first public accusation on October 15, 2024, alleging that Indian agents were colluding with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The RCMP asserted that they had “significant information” detailing broad criminal activity allegedly orchestrated by agents of the Government of India in coordination with the Bishnoi network.”
India, in turn, vehemently rejected the allegations, branding them “absurd and politically motivated,” and retaliated by expelling six Canadian diplomats and recalling its ambassador from Ottawa.
For the uninitiated, Bishnoi has been behind bars in India since 2015 but has “reportedly continued to run his organization while incarcerated,” coordinating with associates like Goldy Brar (real name Satinderjeet Singh) to manage a sprawling network of roughly 700 members across India, North America, Europe, and beyond.
The gang’s Canadian operations have been tied to extortion schemes and shootings, with the RCMP noting its reliance on violence to further criminal enterprises, including money-laundering and contract killings.
The allegations extend further, claiming direct collaboration with Indian agents, with officials reportedly leveraging groups like the Bishnoi syndicate to target pro-Khalistan leaders. The report singles out the 2023 killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, BC, and the murder of Sukhdool Singh in Winnipeg, both deemed terrorists by India.
Intercepted communications allegedly link senior Indian officials to Nijjar’s assassination, a development that has intensified diplomatic tensions between Canada and India.
