Bharuch City police have arrested Adil Abdul Patel from Chavaj village on charges of impersonation, molestation, and blackmail. Patel allegedly posed as a Hindu man to deceive a Hindu woman, leading to a series of disturbing incidents.
The victim, a college student in Bharuch city in 2019, was reportedly befriended by Patel, who had created a fake account under the Hindu identity of Arya Patel. After gaining her trust, Patel engaged in physical relations with her and sexually molested her multiple times. Upon discovering his true identity, the woman was subjected to blackmail, with Patel demanding Rs. 50,000.
With the support of Hindu organizations, the woman lodged a complaint with the Bharuch Superintendent of Police (SP). Recognizing the severity of the situation, the Bharuch SP transferred the investigation to the Mahila Police Station. A comprehensive inquiry was conducted, leading to the formal registration of a complaint and the subsequent arrest of the accused, Adil Abdul Patel.
