In a bizarre incident, an 11-year-old girl died by suicide on Wednesday afternoon in Gujarat’s state capital Gandhinagar.
According to details, the class VI student stayed with the family in Sector 7 of Gandhinagar.
Police have found a note from the site. Investigation is on.
Her father is a class II officer in the state government and mother works in the private sector.
The parents would lock the door from outside while going for the work. Wednesday was no different.
The father came for lunch around 1 pm and left at 2.30 pm after their 16-year-old son left for tuition. The mother returned home around 4.30 pm only to find one of the rooms locked. She did not get a response despite repeatedly calling the daughter.
Mother called the father. He rushed home and saw through a window that the daughter was hanging.
She was taken to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital where she was declared brought dead on arrival.
Police have found a suicide note, police inspector B. B. Goyal told the media. According to him the note suggests emotional distress. However, the exact reason remains unclear.
According to information, the note read, “My brother, now you will be happy, right? Study well. I will come to see you. I am tired of this life. Mummy, I am going. Mummy, papa, brother, and grandma – bye. Mummy, papa, you both stay happy.”
