Class X Student “Murder” In Ahmedabad: Chilling Chat Between Accused Student And Friend Surfaces

| Updated: August 21, 2025 14:54

A day after mortal remains of Nayan Santani, a class X student of a private school in Ahmedabad, were consigned to flames on Wednesday, there is anger amongst parents and students community. Police have also stumbled upon a chat between the accused and his friend in which has confessed to the crime.

A case has been registered and the accused has been arrested. The case is being handled by Ahmedabad Crime Branch.

The chat traced by the police mentioned what led to the attack on his senior with a knife.

After the incident, the family members and relatives of the deceased students protested at the school premises on Wednesday.

Here is what the police accessed:

Friend: Bhai, did you do something today?

Accused: Yes.

Friend: Did you stab someone?

Accused: Who told you?

Friend: Please call for a minute.

Accused: No, no. I am with my brother. He doesn’t know what happened today.

Friend: He (the victim) has died.

Following the chat, the accused questioned his friend and asked him how he got to know about it. The friend then explained that he had met a common acquaintance on the road who told him about it.

Accused: Tell him (the common friend) that I killed him. He knows me, tell him right now.

Friend: What actually happened?

Accused: Arrey, he (the victim) asked me, “Who are you and what will you do?” etc.

Friend: ***** You can’t stab someone to death for this. Mar deta..Maar nahi daalna chahiye tha…(You could have just beaten him up, not killed him)

Accused: Whatever happened has happened now.

Friend: Take care of yourself. Go underground for some time. Delete these chats.

Accused: Ok.

According to the reports, the two students clashed after one of them allegedly hit the other with their elbow while they were descending the school stairs.

Their fight took a violent turn, and one of them was stabbed by another.

The injured student was rushed to a private hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The incident happened at the Seventh Day School in Ahmedabad’s Khokhara area on Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning, hundreds of people, including the victim’s family members, parents of other students, and members of the Sindhi community, stormed the school premises, demanding action against the administration.

The accused hit the victim in the stomach outside the school with a paper cutter. Santani, bleeding, managed to run back into the compound of the school and then collapsed.

What is shocking along with the death of this student is initial details which reveal that the school called for water tanker to wash the blood instead of calling for a ambulance.

The police and the education department have now launched an investigation to look into the alleged charges of evidence tampering and denial of timely aid to the victim.

Police have told media that the staff did not dial 108 (emergency services number) even after seeing that the boy had collapsed.

According to the police, it was one of the classmates of the injured boy who arranged an autorickshaw and took him to the hospital.

Sources said that it is also being looked into if the school had a political backing.

Sources further aid that a report prepared by the District Education Officer’s office has recommended strict action against the administration. It has also stated that findings clearly show that the school management failed to provide immediate medical aid.

The DEO’s office has also asked the school to conduct the classes online until further orders. It will be allowed to re-open for in person classes only with adequate police protection.

Following the incident, the DEO has ordered all the schools to enhance safety. A new directive has mandated every school to form a discipline committee comprising the principal, teachers and students.

The committee will oversee safety inn the classrooms, playgrounds and also the entry and exit points of the schools.

The teachers have been instructed to never leave the students unattended. The schools have also been asked to immediately report any extraordinary or undesirable incidents to the office of the DEO.
