Democrats Release Epstein Emails Claiming Trump ‘Knew About The Girls’, Claim Reports

| Updated: November 13, 2025 14:26

In a scandal of epic proportions, US lawmakers have reportedly released more than 20,000 pages of documents from the estate of financier and alleged sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including some that mention President Donald Trump.

The BBC reported that Democrats on the House Oversight Committee published three email exchanges. One includes correspondence between Epstein, who died by suicide in prison in 2019, and his long-time associate Ghislaine Maxwell, now serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking.

According to the documents made public by Democrats, Epstein wrote in a 2019 email to a journalist that Trump “knew about the girls.” Expectedly, social media erupted over the cryptic phrasing, particularly the ambiguity of “knew about the girls,” which many interpreted as a possible reference to Epstein’s trafficking of minors. For now, the phrase remains vague and unsubstantiated.

Epstein was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges at the time of his death. While his legal battles ended, the revelations have reignited questions about his network of associates, and whether Trump was among them.

Trump has admitted he once had a close relationship with Epstein. However, he said he was never aware of Epstein’s crimes and that he severed ties with him before the financier pleaded guilty to sex offences in 2008.

Another report published on a British news website claims that, according to the newly released emails, Trump spent “hours” at Epstein’s house with Virginia Giuffre. The White House claimed the redacted victim in the emails was Giuffre.

Giuffre was reportedly Epstein’s most high-profile victim and worked as a masseuse at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida before being trafficked to Epstein. In her posthumous memoir, she reportedly wrote that Trump “couldn’t have been friendlier” to her while she worked at Mar-a-Lago.

A section of the media also reported that before her death, Giuffre said she only met Trump once and that he was not among the people who abused her. She mentioned that she didn’t think Trump knew of Epstein’s alleged misconduct with underage girls.

Trump reportedly disclosed that part of his falling out with Epstein stemmed from how he “stole” a woman from her employment from his Mar-a-Lago club. Giuffre, who died by suicide, had reportedly said that Epstein’s longtime companion Maxwell recruited her from Mar-a-Lago to give sexualized massages to Epstein.

A reputed news web portal noted that the big question now is whether Trump suspected “something more nefarious about Epstein’s actions.”

Trump was recently asked whether he knew why Epstein was taking women from Mar-a-Lago. “No, I don’t know really why,” he told reporters at the White House. “But I said if he’s taking anybody from Mar-a-Lago, he’s hiring or whatever he’s doing – I didn’t like it – and we threw him out. We said we don’t want him at the place.”

Trump had reportedly called Epstein a “creep.”

Republicans cry foul

Meanwhile, Republicans on the committee accused Democrats of “cherry-picking” a few of Epstein’s emails to malign the president. They released a collection of documents, arguing that the three emails cited by Democrats were taken out of context.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt backed that view, alleging that Democrats “selectively leaked emails” to create a fake narrative about Trump.

According to reports, Trump weighed in on his Truth Social platform, saying Democrats “are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done” with the government shutdown and “so many other subjects.”

“There should be no deflections to Epstein or anything else, and any Republicans involved should be focused only on opening up our Country, and fixing the massive damage caused by the Democrats!” Trump wrote.

Republicans on the Oversight Committee also accused Democrats of politicising the investigation.

“Democrats continue to carelessly cherry-pick documents to generate click bait that is not grounded in the facts,” The New York Times quoted a committee spokeswoman as saying. “The Epstein Estate has produced over 20,000 pages of documents on Thursday, yet Democrats are once again intentionally withholding records that name Democrat officials.”

In a statement, Leavitt cited Giuffre’s past remarks about Trump, slamming “selectively released emails” which she claimed were meant to “smear” the president.

“The fact remains that President Trump kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his club decades ago for being a creep to his female employees, including Giuffre,” The New York Times quoted Leavitt as saying. “These stories are nothing more than bad-faith efforts to distract from President Trump’s historic accomplishments, and any American with common sense sees right through this hoax and clear distraction from the government opening back up again.”
