People of Gujarat are known for their dreams of settling abroad and several even take risks of faking documents and using dunki routes.
One such case of faking a document has come to light and Nikol Police in Ahmedabad are investigating the case.
Prakash Govindlal Patel, had submitted a fake marksheet of 2003 of Ganpat University. In Australia, the authorities found out that the University was only established in 2005.
He was deported to India and a complaint was registered in New Delhi. Nikol police were ordered to investigate. Among other things, the police are also looking into how the youth got the degree/marksheet and when.
Patel had gone to Australia on March 28, 2024, after getting the visa. A few months later, Australia immigration re-checked the documents and it turned out to be fake. He was deported to India on November 3, this year.
For the last several years, America and Australia have blacklisted some universities and colleges in Gujarat and Punjab. Those who go to get visas with mark sheets from these institutions are not granted visas.
The move is considered a precautionary measure to ensure that people do not reach the respective countries by using fake documents. There has been an increasing trend in these countries to attract real talent.
