Indian Tourist Bus Carrying 49 Passengers Attacked In Nepal

Indians stranded in Nepal are awaiting help from the Indian government. The Government has begun work realising that Indians are under attack in Nepal

Amid the ongoing unrest in Nepal, it has been revealed that an Indian tourist bus was allegedly attacked by protesters near Kathmandu, leaving several passengers injured.

The bus was returning from the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu.

The alleged incident took place on September 9 near Sonauli on the India-Nepal border, when the agitators targeted the bus carrying 49 Indians.

At least 2,000 Indians have returned to their country in the last three days through the Panitanki border in West Bengal’s Siliguri, after overcoming the terrible situation in the violence-hit Nepal. 

An SSB official said that nearly 2,000 Indians have returned from Nepal after the violence broke out in India’s north-eastern neighbour. Most of them worked as labourers in Nepal.

“The Indians who returned home breathed a sigh of relief. The shadow of the terrible experience due to the unrest in Nepal was visible on their faces,” the official informed.

He pointed out that all those Indians had gone to work as labourers or as tourists.

Currently, Gen-Z leaders who are protesting against corruption in Nepal. A  certain group of people are out on the streets, demanding that democracy be preserved and that any army rule be prevented. President Poudel has indicated he is in charge of the negotiation, even though the Nepal Army and protesting Gen-Z leaders are discussing the future political course. The President is the ceremonial Commander-in-Chief of the Nepal Army, as per the constitution. It is likely that Sushila Karki, an Indian educated Nepalese woman who was the first woman chief justice of Nepal may take over as an interim PM. She has studied in Benares Hindu University. Kathmandu City Mayor Balen Shah has also thrown his weight behind Karki.
