India Vote Chori: Provide Documents, Karnataka CEO Asks Rahul Gandhi

|Karnataka | Updated: August 10, 2025 20:23

Karnataka asks Gandhi for Vote Chori documents

The Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer has issued a notice to Leader of Opposition, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asking him to share documents based on which he had alleged that a woman voted twice. Rahul Gandhi has alleged massive vote theft, Vote Chori in the country. Gandhi has claimed that Modi and BJP won the parliamentary elections in June 2024 just because they indulged in vote theft.

Rahul Gandhi held a press conference where he exposed the Modi government’s dirty designs and serious discrepancies in voter data. He had said that Congress investigation zeroed in on the Mahadevapura Assembly seat after the Congress’s internal polling had predicted a win in 16 seats in Karnataka, but the party ended up with only nine. Out of the seven unexpected losses, Mahadevapura was chosen for closer scrutiny.

“Total votes polled in the (Bangalore Central) Lok Sabha were 6.26 lakh. The BJP won with 6,58,915, securing a margin of 32,707. Then, we looked at Mahadevapura, where Congress got 1,15,586 votes and BJP 2,29,632. Congress won all Vidhan Sabhas, but this one. This seat won them the election,”Gandhi had said.

Gandhi has alleged that over 1,00,250 votes were “stolen in five different ways: duplicate voters, fake and invalid addresses, bulk voters in a single address. “But when we went there, there was no record of those people living there. One family was living in that house.”

Raising serious doubts over the credibility of recent state election outcomes, Rahul Gandhi pointed to the stark reversal in the INDIA Bloc’s performance in Maharashtra. Despite securing 30 out of 48 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, the alliance suffered a crushing defeat in the Assembly elections just five months later — a shift he said could not be dismissed as normal electoral fluctuation.

However on Sunday evening, Karnataka’s top poll officer told Rahul Gandhi that the documents will help his office carry out a detailed inquiry.

“You have also stated that as per the records given by the polling officer, Smt Shakun Rani had voted twice…On inquiry, Smt Sakun Rani has stated that she has voted only once and not twice, as alleged by you,” the notice reads.

A preliminary inquiry conducted by the CEO’s office also revealed that the tick-marked document shown by the Congress leader in the presentation was not issued by the polling officer, the notice has clarified.

“Therefore, you are kindly requested to provide the relevant documents on the basis of which you have concluded that Smt Shakun Rani or anyone else has voted twice, so that a detailed inquiry can be undertaken by this office,” the notice has stated. Right now, Rahul Gandhi is in Bengalaru, Karnataka only where he is addressing a massive rally on this vote theft which he has said has been the only reason why Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister of India.
