Shocking claims stating that American businessman and philanthropist Bill Gates has contracted a sexually transmitted disease from Russian girls have surfaced in documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
Epstein, the late financier, was arrested in 2019 on federal sex-trafficking charges. He later died in a New York City jail while awaiting trial.
“Epstein allegedly worked with several employees and associates to ensure that he had a steady supply of minor victims to abuse, and paid several of those victims themselves to recruit other underage girls to engage in similar sex acts for money,” claims the United States Attorney’s Office website.
The allegations appeared in a large batch of records unsealed by the US Department of Justice. The newly-released documents include screenshots of alleged self-emails dated 2013 and attributed to Epstein. In the messages, Epstein reportedly claimed that the Microsoft co-founder contracted a sexually transmitted disease from “Russian girls.”
The emails also alleged that Gates asked that he be provided antibiotics that could be secretly given to his then wife, Melinda. The allegations were not verified. None of the claims were substantiated. Gates has long denied wrongdoing, and the assertions have been disputed based on context.
According to the records, Epstein allegedly wrote a lengthy email to himself on July 18, 2013. The message criticised Gates for ending their relationship and accused him of attempting to conceal personal matters. The US Sun reported on the contents.
One passage of the alleged email read: “TO add insult to the injury you them (sic) implore me to please delete the emails regarding your std, your request that I provide you antibiotics that you can surreptitiously give to Melinda and the description of your *****.”
Earlier in the same message, Epstein said he had been “dismayed beyond comprehension” by Gates’s decision to “disregard our friendship developed over the last six years.”
The email also included the line: “I have been caught up in a severe marital dispute between Melinda and Bill…”
Epstein further alleged: “In my role as his right hand man I have been asked and wrongly acquiesced into participating in things that have ranged from the morally inappropriate, to the ethically unsound and have been repeatedly asked to do thing (sic) that get near and potentially over the line into the illegal…”
Gates has previously said he regretted his association with Epstein and has consistently denied any illegal or improper conduct.
The released records also include multiple undated photographs showing Epstein and Gates together. One image shows Gates smiling next to a woman whose face was redacted.
Bill and Melinda Gates were married from 1994 to 2021. Melinda Gates has said Gates’s affairs and his relationship with Epstein were factors in their divorce. She did not provide further detail. The Wall Street Journal reported she hired divorce lawyers in 2019 after concerns related to Gates’s alleged dealings with Epstein.
In response to the claims, Gates, through his philanthropic foundation, issued a strongly worded denial, calling the information “absurd and completely false.”
