A Gujarati from Navsari has claimed that life in India is too difficult and rationalises the move back to Canada. In a post which has now gone viral, this Reddit user claims that India is not for us. The post was shared by @Economy_Push_8886, with the caption, “Moving back to Canada from India, India is not for us.” The user claims the move was to spend more time with parents but it has not worked out.
From air to food to driving to behaviour, political issues and caste dominance, the user admits of being disillusioned with the decision and hence retracts it.
The Redditor explained how poor air quality caused constant burning in the eyes and created a feeling of being caged indoors. Eating out was described as unsafe due to “low-quality ingredients and unhygienic kitchens.” Driving was said to feel like a daily battle, with bad roads, reckless behaviour, and frequent road rage. The user noted that while income tax was at par or more than developed nations, the services offered by the State are pathetic in India. “33% income tax for what? If you are successful and make 1Cr a year, you are paying 1/3 to income tax for exactly what services?”, the user asked adding that competition, show-off culture, and inflated egos made it impossible to adjust.

Mixed opinions are being shared on Reddit on the post. While some agreed with the Redditor’s points, mentioning similar struggles with air quality, hygiene, traffic, and education costs, and expressed understanding of the decision to return to Canada: other dubbed the user as anti national and Desh Drohi. They said the user was trying to instigate anti India emotions. “Drug problem in India? Compared to the rest of the world, India is in a low zone, I feel,” another user commented.
