In the posh locality of Satellite in Ahmedabad, two men tried to abduct a 15-year-old girl in broad daylight. However, the girl’s brave resistance foiled the attempt. The incident happened just 3 km from the Satellite police station.
An FIR was filed with Satellite police by the girl’s father, a businessman. He told the cops that the attackers were aged about 35. At around 3.30 pm the girl was going to her tuition class near Seema Hall in Satellite. To reach there, she usually had to pass through a secluded lane to get an autorickshaw. Two men standing near an autorickshaw spotted her. One of them held her by her shoulders. When she tried to escape, he stood on her feet to prevent her from running away. While another man held the girl’s neck and covered her mouth.
The girl pushed the man who was holding her neck and fled from the spot, hailed an autorickshaw and headed to her tuition class.
Satellite police have registered a complaint of molestation and have also invoked the provisions of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. Five teams of Satellite police are searching for the suspects.
