The blood-soaked body of a 19-year-old woman, with her right hand amputated, was found in a landfill site off the National Highway 48 in Vadodara on Tuesday, 22nd March. The body was found near the Jambuwa Bridge on the NH48 on the outskirts of Vadodara city, under the jurisdiction of the Makarpura police station.
Primary investigations point to the fact that the assailants had cut off the victim’s hand, killed her and threw her body off the bridge. The woman’s right arm was later retrieved by the police. According to police sources, signs of stabbing have been found on the head and mouth of the victim.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the dead was named Trisha Solanki, a student who lived in her uncle’s house in the Maneja area. The Aadhaar card obtained from the spot revealed that the girl was originally from the Panchmahal district. Last seen alive, the girl had left for tuitions on her scooter.
Makarpura police have registered a case of murder against unknown persons and are currently investigating the motive behind the grisly murder.
