A Vadodara court on Thursday sent Kalpesh Thakor, 23, to three days in police custody, a day after he was arrested for the murder of a 19-year-old girl.” The charge sheet, in this case, would be submitted within a week,” stated Commissioner of Police Shamsher Singh. He added that a special prosecutor will be appointed to obtain a quick conviction and the worst punishment feasible.
The Vadodara police requested Thakor’s police custody before the court, claiming that the key to the victim’s two-wheeler, Trusha Solanki, had still to be retrieved. Thakor was driving the two-wheeler after dumping her body on NH48 near Jambuva.
Important to note here is that The blood-soaked body of a 19-year-old girl, with her right hand amputated, was found in a landfill site off the National Highway 48 in Vadodara on Tuesday, 22nd March. The body was found near the Jambuwa Bridge on the NH48 on the outskirts of Vadodara city, under the jurisdiction of the Makarpura police station. Solanki died as a result of many stab wounds to her neck and head, and her left arm was severed, according to authorities. The incident occurred on March 22 night, when Solanki, who was preparing for the written examination for Gujarat police recruitment, consented to see the accused, who had been chasing her for a relationship.
