This morning, a group of some forty people gathered at the Satellite police station in Ahmedabad to register a case against a company they believe has cheated them. The people have, apparently, lost more than Rs30 lakhs. The people said that they had bought a scheme from a company named Valorah-Karma Resort and Hospitality, which promised them vacations with stays in five-star hotels and amenities like pick-up and drop services. However, when they contacted the company to avail their services they were not provided with the same.
One of the people gathered at the station said that they wanted to book a vacation for particular dates but were told that the reservations were not available. They were not able;e to get a booking for any alternative dates either. Everyone who had purchased the scheme had a similar experience.
The company, allegedly, targeted people who had bought high-end cars and lured them into the scheme with presentations accompanied by dinners in posh hotels. It is believed that around 50 people bought the scheme and 40 of them had made registered a complaint. The police have taken individual statements and will be investigating the matter. Later, a case will be registered accordingly.
