As many as 43 Gujaratis have managed to reach the Indo-Nepal border safely, away from the nationwide protests in Nepal by Gen-Z students, activists against corruption and social media ban.
A large number of Indians, including tourists from Gujarat, have been stranded even as the situation has been turning violent in the last couple of days.
According to sources, 18 Gujaratis are still stranded in the neighbouring country.
Forty-three people from Bhavnagar were on a pilgrimage to Pashupatinath and other religious places. They were stuck in Pokhara.
They were staying in a hotel, and due to mobile network disruptions, their families were unable to contact them.
Eventually, they reached the border safely with police and army security. At one point, protesters blocked the luxury bus carrying the Gujarati pilgrims, but no harm was done.
Congress MP from Gujarat Shaktisinh Gohil wrote on X that a resident of Gujarat Kenan Patel called up and said that 18 people, including him, are still stuck there.
