About the event
When the book came out – written, conceived, and launched, as it was, through the lockdowns – Nishant Shah, Professor of Aesthetics and Cultures at AU had never imagined that we would get to do in-person readings and conversations around it. So, it is with the greatest delight and pleasure that I am heading in for my first book-reading for Really Fake thanks to Tejaswini Niranjana and the wonderful centre she is building at Ahmedabad University.
It will be without his wonderful coauthors Alexandra Juhasz and Ganaele Langlois but they will be with us in spirits. And it is doubly important for me because it has been more than 2 years since I visited Ahmedabad – going home has never felt this poignant – and this time, I get to not only go home but also present new work there.
So, if you are around, this 27th October, and you are in Ahmedabad, and feeling up to in-person gatherings, please do RSVP and come and have a chat with me about fakeness, and fiction, and poetry, and the ways to be joyfully human in the face of digital fakeness
