The city of Ahmedabad has reported an increase in the number of fatal accidents. This is largely due to accidents caused by negligent and over-speeding vehicles. Statistics reveal that an alarming number of 677 people have died in road accidents in the past 20 months. And these are just the numbers of the people who have died. Many others were injured as well. As of the year 2021, 403 people have died and in 2022, 274 people have died so far.
As such small and big accidents are happening every day in Ahmedabad. But, the number of serious accidents are also increasing. Statistics released by the Ahmedabad City’s Traffic Police Department say that a total of 403 people died in fatal accidents in the year 2021 and 274 have lost their lives in the year 2022 so far. In the last 20 months, there have been 662 fatal accidents and 677 deaths. A total of 14 traffic police stations were built keeping in mind the traffic system in the city. Out of the 845 accident cases that were reported in the year 2022, 265 have been cases of fatal accidents. Ahmedabad’s Division Traffic Police Station includes Amraiwadi, Khokhara, Nikol, Odhav and Ramol areas. Meanwhile the least number of fatal accident cases have been reported in N Division Traffic Police Station. It includes the area under Anandnagar, Paldi and Satellite Police Station limits.
