Dada Bhuse, the biggest Shiv Sena name from north Maharashtra and Malegaon Outer constituency MLA has been associated with the Shiv Sena for nearly 18 years. Though the agriculture minister has joined the rebel group in Guwahati, the wind is not yet blowing against him in his hometown.
According to some Sena workers in his constituency, Bhuse’s switch to the Shinde camp has had no negative impact on them. Indeed, many of these party workers posted a WhatsApp status in Marathi that said, “Wherever you are, we will be with you.”
“He is a heavyweight in Sena, and throwing his weight behind Shinde is huge,” said the Jalgaon rebel MLA.
The addition of Dada Bhuse to the Shinde camp would be a significant blow to Thackeray in north Maharashtra, as the other five MLAs have already sided with Shinde. Dada Bhuse was the sole Sena MLA who had not yet sided with the rebel Sena leader.
Meanwhile, the Sena dissidents camped in Guwahati said their return to Maharashtra would be contingent on the evolving situation.
They claimed that the Shinde camp now has more than 40 MLAs.
“Our senior leaders are strategizing the future course of action, based on which we will decide when to return to Mumbai,” a rebel Sena leader said.
