Bhagwati Uttamchandani, who lives in Gota’s Bhagwati Apartments, informed Sola police that her nephew Jay Lalwani had disappeared from the hospital and filed a FIR.
Jay’s father passed away nine years ago, and his mother died in 2017. He was also seeking support for depression at the time. He used to stay with his aunt.
In the FIR, Bhagwati said that her brother Udhnaram Lalwani had dengue and was taken to Sola Civil hospital on August 22. Jay used to be there for him and look after him.
On August 26, Jay said he was sick with a fever, body aches, and feeling sick. Blood tests showed that the person had dengue. As his health got worse, he was also taken to the Sola Civil Hospital on August 26.
Bhagwati said that she was at the hospital with both Jay and her brother. When she went to see Jay on September 6, he told her that a doctor had told him he would be released in a day or two.
When she went to the hospital on September 7, her brother told her that Jay had gone to the ground floor the night before and hadn’t come back since. She went to the ward where Jay was staying, but she didn’t find him there.
She also tried to find him in other parts of the hospital, but she couldn’t find him anywhere. She then went to the Sola police station and reported the person missing.
Inspector NR Vaghela of the Sola police said that the police have been looking at the hospital’s CCTV footage but haven’t found anything yet.
