According to the list, the Congress, which won five of the 20 seats in the 2018 Assembly elections, made significant gains and held a lead of 15 seats as of 4 pm. The BJP, which previously took nine out of the 20 seats, was in the lead in two. The JDS was in the lead on three seats and had won six of them.

The Congress has won 101 seats and is in the lead in 35, according to the most recent data available on the Election Commission website. A distant second, the BJP, has won 48 and is in the lead in 64.

Before the 2024 Lok Sabha election, this will give the opposition party a major boost.

The 146-day Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, travelled through 12 states from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Rahul Gandhi had addressed numerous public gatherings during the 3,500-km march, which was an attempt by the party to galvanise support before the general election. He took aim at the BJP, which is currently in power.
