A Gujarati officer, Pratik Doshi, works in the PMO in the capital, becomes son-in-law to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Parakala Vangamayi, daughter of Nirmala Sitharaman, got married to Pratik Doshi, a Gujarati Officer on Special Duty (Research & Strategy) in the PMO, on Wednesday in a low-key ceremony at her home in Bengaluru, Karnataka. According to the PMO website, Pratik’s role is to help the prime minister with secretarial affairs in accordance with the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961, including but not limited to research and strategy. Since 2014, Doshi has been employed at the PMO. In June 2019, he was promoted to the position of joint secretary.
Multimedia journalist Vangmayi Parakala works for the Mint Lounge division of the Hindustan Times. She publishes stories on a variety of topics, including art, media, social policy, and literary culture, according to her website. She has an M.A. in English from the University of Delhi’s Department of English and an M.S. in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Additionally, her writing has appeared in The Hindu, Literary Hub, Hindustan Times, The New Indian Express, and Pacific Standard.
The Brahmin customs of the Udipi Adamaru Mutt were followed for Vangamayi and Pratik’s wedding, and seers were present to bless the couple.
