Michelle Obama has stirred the pot with a comment about her husband, Barack Obama.
In her IMO podcast, she spoke about the clash between politics and parenting. And this time, her words seemed aimed at home.
“Politics will suck the life out of that,” she said with a quick laugh.
The comment alluded to Barack Obama’s years in the White House. The demands of the presidency understandably consumed his time.
Michelle’s remark hinted that her husband’s political career may have affected his role as a father.
Barack Obama served two terms as President, from 2009 to 2017. During those years, the couple raised their daughters, Malia and Sasha.
The timing of Michelle’s words has sparked fresh interest in their relationship.
Rumours about their marriage have been circulating for a while.
Michelle missed high-profile events such as Donald Trump’s inauguration and the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter.
Her absence led to questions. Then, in April, Barack publicly admitted he was in a “deep deficit” with Michelle. That only added to the speculation.
Despite this, both Michelle and Barack have spoken openly about their bond.
In a recent podcast, Michelle said: “There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man.”
She added that the marriage had brought out the best in her, and that they’ve shared many good times over the years.
In July, the couple addressed the rumours together. Michelle said they’ve had “a lot of fun times,” and their relationship has grown stronger.
Even with the constant media buzz, Michelle and Barack continue to show love and admiration for each other.
They recently celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary with heartfelt messages on social media.
Michelle posted a smiling selfie with Barack and wrote: “We’ve been on quite the journey over the last 33 years and yet, I love you even more today than the day we said ‘I do.’ Happy anniversary, Barack Obama! I’m so lucky to go through life with you.”
Barack also shared his tribute: “The best decision I ever made was marrying you, @MichelleObama. For 33 years, I have admired your strength, grace, and determination and the fact that you look so good doing it all. Happy anniversary!”
