Dhurandhar: The Revenge will hit theatres on March 19, but eager fans can catch the film a day earlier through special paid previews scheduled for the evening of March 18.
The sequel, directed by Aditya Dhar, is among the most anticipated Hindi films in recent years. It brings back Ranveer Singh as Hamza, also known as Jaskirat—an Indian spy operating in Pakistan. The massive success of the first instalment, which released in December, has built tremendous momentum for the sequel. Riding on this buzz, the makers have planned large-scale preview screenings on the eve of release—an initiative rarely seen at this scale in Hindi cinema.
Paid previews across thousands of screens
The announcement came with the film’s trailer launch on Saturday, when Jio Studios and B62 Studios unveiled a four-minute glimpse into Jaskirat Singh Rangi’s world. At the end of the trailer, the makers confirmed paid previews for March 18. Ticket bookings for these shows opened the same afternoon on platforms such as BookMyShow and District.
According to trade estimates, paid previews will be screened on nearly 5,000 screens across India. Several theatres have scheduled the first shows between 4 pm and 5 pm, with multiple screenings planned through the evening. While the previews will be held nationwide, they will not be available in every location. The film’s full release on March 19 will expand to even more screens across additional cities.
Advance bookings show strong response
Fans have also noticed that ticket prices for the paid previews are unusually high. Trade sources say the average ticket price for the Hindi version across India is about ₹417, while multiplex tickets are averaging close to ₹550. Even the Kannada dubbed version is priced above ₹400 on average.
Despite the steep pricing, demand remains strong. By Tuesday evening, more than three lakh tickets had already been sold for the paid previews, generating over ₹16 crore in domestic revenue. Overseas, the film has earned over $700,000 from preview bookings in North America and is expected to cross $2 million during the opening weekend. With more than a week remaining before release, the numbers indicate a promising start.
