When an MLA of the ruling party accuses its own government of corruption, how embarrassing would that be? Well, a similar situation has been reported in Gujarat’s Vadodara, where a BJP MLA accused government officials and contractors of corruption and demanded a thorough investigation after cracks appeared on a newly built Rs. 24 crore bridge in Vadodara.
As per reports, Savli MLA Ketan Inamdar wrote a strongly worded letter to the Chief Minister of the state, alleging poor quality construction in a bridge project over the Mesri River near Prathampura village in Savli taluka.
Reports suggest that the bridge was constructed along with a road approach and was recently inaugurated. However, within just a few days of the inauguration, visible cracks were seen on the road surface, and a portion of the RCC structure allegedly began peeling off.
In his letter to the Chief Minister, the MLA wrote that within just a few days of the inauguration and after being opened for public use, structural defects became visible on the bridge. He described the matter as extremely serious and stated that the damage was clearly visible. He alleged that the negligence of contractors and officials was responsible for the poor condition of the bridge.
Talking about the government, he said that authorities must remain committed to strengthening public infrastructure, but poor quality work can damage the reputation of the government as well. The incident has sparked controversy and become a widely discussed topic of conversation and concern.
Reports suggest that this is not the first time Inamdar has written such a letter. Before this, he had written to the Chief Minister within the last five months. Earlier, on January 28, 2026, he had accused officials of negligence in public works and of failing to address local grievances.
