What began as a friendly game of Ludo over a small cash bet turned violent in Gujarat’s Jetpur after a dispute over ₹500 ended with one man attacking his friend with a sharp weapon.
The incident took place outside a government hospital in Jetpur, where the two men had been sitting together and playing Ludo on a mobile phone. Police said the disagreement started after one of them won the game and refused to hand over the winnings.
Dispute Began Over Ludo Winnings
According to the complaint, Munabhai and Veerpal were sitting on a bench outside a government hospital in Jetpur and playing Ludo on a mobile phone. The two had placed a cash bet on the game.
Munabhai won the game and kept the money. Veerpal later asked him to hand over the winnings, but Munabhai refused. What started as a disagreement over the money soon turned into an argument between the two friends.
Motorcycle Keys Snatched During Argument
During the heated exchange, Veerpal took away Munabhai’s motorcycle keys.
Munabhai then asked him to return the keys. According to the police complaint, the situation became more aggressive at this point, with Veerpal losing his temper and attacking Munabhai with a sharp weapon. Munabhai suffered injuries in the attack.
Victim Taken to Hospital
People present at the spot rushed the injured man to Navagarh Government Hospital for treatment.
Doctors provided initial medical care, but due to the seriousness of his injuries, Munabhai was later referred to Junagadh Civil Hospital for further treatment. His condition was reported to be serious but stable.
Police Arrest Accused
After receiving information about the incident, personnel from the Jetpur Udyognagar police reached the hospital and began investigating the case.
Police recorded Munabhai’s complaint and subsequently arrested Veerpal in connection with the alleged attack.
The weapon believed to have been used in the incident was also recovered and seized, according to police. A case has been registered, and further legal proceedings are underway.
The incident has drawn attention to how a seemingly minor dispute over a ₹500 Ludo bet escalated into a serious physical attack, leaving one man injured and his friend facing criminal charges.
