A 36-year-old woman and her six-year-old daughter were found dead in the early hours of Monday in Vadodara after participating in Garba festivities.
The Sama police station has then begun a probe and sent the bodies of the mother and daughter for an autopsy so as to know the exact cause of death.
As per the woman’s husband, both were rushed to a private hospital after having complaints of discomfort. However, the doctors declared them to be dead.
The police have detained the husband for interrogation.
The Assistant Commissioner of Police, H Division, Bharat Rathod said that they are still unable to tell the cause of death. The husband has said that the woman and the daughter were rushed to a private hospital as they felt discomfort around 2 am on Monday.
He further said that they found some marks on the woman’s neck however, they were no clear strangulation marks or that of any injury so they are awaiting the autopsy report. The primary medical report from the private hospital has also been sought by the police.
Police added that the woman’s brother arrived at the scene and his statement was recorded. Investigations on the matter are ongoing and more details are yet awaited.
