Gujarat Unit of Aam Aadmi Party faces the heat after their famous fiasco of leading a protest at Gujarat BJP Headquarters, which landed several of its party workers in jail. Since then, Singer turned Politician Vijay Suvana has left the party, whereas Businessman Philanthropist Mahesh Savani has announced his political retirement.
The Delhi-based party is worried as their relatively new party organization in the state cannot cope with the political challenges thrown at them. AAP had 27 elected corporators from Surat city, but within a few days, their numbers have reduced to 21 as more corporators are deserting AAP.
In the new development, ward number 4 corporator from Surat, Kundan Kodhiya, has finally resigned from the party. She was unreachable for the past few days, and on Monday, she joined the ruling BJP. 5 corporators have already ditched AAP in Surat and have joined hands with BJP.
AAP leader and Opposition leader of the party in Surat Corporation, Dharmesh Bhanderi, has levelled serious allegations against the BJP. He said that the ruling party offers huge amounts of money to corporators to join them. There are only 21 AAP corporators left in Surat Municipal corporation, of which four have turned rebels.
Dharmesh Bhanderi told Vibes of India many complaints against ward number 4 corporator Kundan Kodhia; she was suspended from the party.
New BJP recruits from the AAP have sought Police protection alleging a threat to their security.
