After canceling her engagement with a guy she met through community matchmaking services, a 23-year-old orchestra singer was threatened with an acid attack. Varsha Vanzara (23), an orchestra vocalist, met Kishan Vanzara through matchmaking by her family’s elders. They swapped phone numbers and began conversing on a daily basis because they liked each other. Sooner they both got engaged with the consent of their families.
Following a lengthy chat with Kishan, Varsha decided to call off the engagement. Kishan’s reconciliation attempts were all rejected by her.
Kishan contacted Varsha on Sunday afternoon and threatened to throw acid on her and murder her if she didn’t marry him. He also threatened to slander her family’s ladies, including her sister.
He then told her he would commit suicide and blame Varsha for the same. He then called up her father and threatened him with a similar plan and warned him that if she wouldn’t marry him he will throw acid at her and kill her. The scared family then approached the cops and filed a complaint with the Naroda police.
