Actress Nushrratt Bharuccha’s Safe Return From Israel Amid Conflict

| Updated: October 8, 2023 15:50

Amidst the ongoing deadly terror attacks by Hamas and the retaliatory air raids by Israel’s defense forces, Bollywood actor Nushrratt Bharuccha found herself stranded in Israel. However, there is good news as the Indian Embassy, along with the diligent efforts of her team, has successfully initiated her journey back home to India.

Nushrratt’s publicist, Sanchita Trivedi, spoke with relief and gratitude, saying, “We managed to get in touch with Nushrratt, and with the help of the Embassy, she is being brought back home safely. We did not get a direct flight, so she is on a connecting flight home. For her further safety, more details cannot be shared, but as soon as she lands in India, we will inform you. We are relieved and thank God that she is safe and on her way to India.”

The actor had been in Israel to participate in the Haifa International Film Festival when the conflict erupted.

The situation in Israel has grown increasingly dire, with a barrage of rocket fire from Gaza into Israel, hitting several cities, including Tel Aviv, Rehovot, Gedera, and Ashkelon, at approximately 6:30 a.m. (local time) on Saturday. Subsequently, several Hamas militants infiltrated Israel from the Gaza Strip, taking control of Israeli towns.

Hamas military commander Muhammad Al-Deif named the operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” and cited it as a response to attacks on women, the desecration of the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, and the ongoing siege of Gaza. As a result of these events, the death toll from Hamas’ multi-front attack on Israel has tragically exceeded 300 as of Sunday, with the expectation of further casualties.

Reports also indicate that a substantial number of individuals, approximately 1,590, have been wounded, many of them seriously.
