Two days after former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh was arrested over his casteist slur against his former teammate Yuzvendra Chahal, Indian actress and Bigg Boss 9 fame Yuvika Chaudhary was arrested on Monday for allegedly using a casteist slur in a video. Booked under the SC/ST Act, the actress was later released on interim bail after an order from Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The incident took place five months back where Yuvika was seen making alleged offensive remarks against Schedule Castes while filming her husband Prince Narula in a vlog. This brought her in a bad light on social media and in no time #ArrestYuvikaChaudhary was trending on micro-blogging site Twitter.
An FIR was lodged against the actress at Hansi Police Station by a Dalit rights activist Rajat Kalsan alleging that she had made some derogatory and objectionable remarks about the Scheduled Caste community in the video on May 28.
However, following the incident, Yuvika took to social media and apologised to her fans.
