The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) armed Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani on Monday flagged 30 bikers of the Police Daredevil team from north Kashmir’s Uri who would travel up to Statue of Unity and take part in Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) celebrations going to be held on October 31 in Gujarat.
Besides ADGP (Armed), several officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police participated in the event including DIG North Kashmir, SSP Baramulla, SSP APCR, SO to ADGP (Armed) SDM Uri, SDPO Uri, and others.
During the event, 30 motorcyclists of the Dare Devil team of Jammu & Kashmir Police left for Kewadia Gujarat who would travel to Kewadia viz Statue of Unity and participate in the event.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the function, the ADGP (Armed) said these motorcyclists have been flagged off from Uri and will reach Kewedia Gujarat on October 27 after passing from several cities of the country.
He said that the rally will participate in the Unity parade which will be held on October 31. “The aim of the rally is to create wide awareness about freedom fighters who fought with valour and rendered unforgettable sacrifices”, the ADGP said.
Besides, there is a motto to disseminate a message to people about national integration, he added.
