Ahmedabad Administration to Transform 40 City Roads into ‘Iconic Roads’

| Updated: January 29, 2024 13:03

Following the successful transformation of the stretch from Airport Road to Indira Bridge Circle, the Ahmedabad administration has announced plans to convert 40 road stretches in the city into ‘iconic roads.’ This ambitious project, estimated to cost Rs 150 crore, is funded by the Union government’s Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).

The initiative aims to enhance road stretches located around major entry points into the city, thereby improving accessibility and aesthetics. The project includes the development of a road from Visat Circle to Zundal Circle, and transforming stretches connecting the old municipal ward office to Amrakunj Bungalows and Devnanadan Horizon Sanidhya Elora to Surya’s Circle in the same area.

Funds have been allocated for the road from Astral House to Babul Baug Party Plot in Bodakdev and from Rajpath Club to Rudraksh Bungalows crossroads. The SK Farm-Iskcon-Ambli BRTS Road and Santoor Bungalows crossroads-Ambli village stretches are also included in the project.
