BRTS service in Ahmedabad has introduced quarterly pass system. The announcement comes twelve years after its launch by Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited, the company operating the service.

The monthly pass is priced at Rs 750 and the quarterly pass is priced at Rs 2,000. However, senior citizens up to the age of 75 and students will get a 40% discount. Travel will be free for all persons above 75

By paying Rs. 2000 for a quarterly pass, a person can travel on any route of BRTS at will. BRTS monthly pass is already available.

This pass system will eliminate the need to remember to recharge as in previous smart cards. Instead, like a mobile or electricity bill, it will have to be renewed on at a fixed date. BRTS passes will not be allowed in AMTS though.
